My Goat - A Scavenger Hunt Poem
This isn't a very serious poem, if that wasn't obvious. I wrote it at a scavenger hunt social for Manchester Satellite Development Group (MSDG/CanSat), of which I am currently on the committee.
One of the tasks was to write a poem about a member of another team and read it to them. I was tasked with writing a poem about Abdullah Malik, while the rest of my team went to buy orange juice for a different task.
At the behest of CanSat's President, Charlotte, I've put the poem to a video of Abdullah repeatedly failing to win a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors against a stranger (another task from the hunt).
November, 2024.

My Goat
He's a man with a simple dream
To be free, to scamper among the trees,
In his chest his heart screams.
He wants to have bear hands.
My goat speaks.
