De-hooded
Personally, I wouldn't be seen dead wearing a sixth-form hoodie out of the house... Unless it's been cut apart and revamped.
Below are photos I took at the time (I didn't have the website back then, so forgive them for being mirror selfies).
I started off by cutting the lower section of the hoodie away to crop it, including the pocket. Then I cut the hood off. I was careful to keep the shape of the pieces I cut away, so I could re-use them later (see post below).
[Totally a link rn]
At the front of the ex-hoodie, the collar where the sides of the hood once met overlapped slighty, making it perfect for cutting a slit into the front. I folded the sides of the slit over and sewed them down, to give the slit a v-shape, then used a belt punch to create holes along it. I took the string out of the hood and laced it through the holes, and reinforced some of the weaker holes with thread to protect them from tearing - and also to keep the string in place.
On a side note, this was my first proper photoshoot in Manchester - a little exciting, despite being harder to get decent photos from.
